The Homelessness Prevention Initiative provides rental assistance to members of our community who face the loss of their housing through unforeseen emergencies. USR’s goal is to raise enough money through a variety of fundraising events to help 4 families from becoming homeless.
- In 2006, the program helped 599 families maintain their housing with an average assistance amount of $229. Since the inception of the program, over 2800 families have been helped
- While prevention costs an average of $229 per household, the costs of time spent in a shelter, on emergency room visits, agency services, food baskets, and the costs to secure new housing total $5,000 and more per family.

Cans for Habitat is an ongoing recycling project at USR. In each of our break rooms employees drop their empty soda cans in recycling boxes provided by Habitat. The money generated from the collected and recycled aluminum goes towards funding Habitat homes in the Fort Collins area
NorRonald McDonald House Pop Tab Collection Program
http://www.ronaldhouse.org

US-Reports, Inc. collects the pop tops from cans to donate to the Ronal McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House serves as a home away from home for many families whose children are seriously ill and are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Denver.
A specialty designated jar is located in each employee break room for employees to deposit their pop tops. The Ronald McDonald Houses collects pop tabs instead of entire aluminum cans because the tabs are pure high-quality aluminum, unlike cans, which consist of aluminum and other alloys. US-Reports, Inc has collected over 2000 pop tops as 6/08.
